Spanish Karaoke
Objectives: Sing a CLEAN Spanish Song in-front of the class, as in a Karaoke situation. Explain why you chose the song, analyze the tone (is the song happy, melancholy, angry, etc.), evaluate what external factors influence the lyrics and tone of the song i.e. country of origin of artist, race of artist. The Lyrics may be projected on the White Board or notes may be used. You must also interpret the song by gesticulating along with the words of the song, in such manner that the actions are concurrent with the meanings of the lyrics. Song Requirements: Song must be at least 3 min long, no longer than 5 min. Song must be approved by Profe Sclerandi. Song must have at least 2 stanzas and 1 chorus. Suggested Artists (Juanes, Jarabe de Palo, Shakira, Soda Estereo, Hombres G, Ruben Blades, Juan Luis Guerra, Los Enanitos Verdes, etc) Prior to Karaoke. Explain the following: 1. En Espanol. Who is the Artist and where is he/she from and what is the capital of the country, 2. The theme of the song, and the tone, and other external influences to theme. 3. Why do you like the song? 4. Why did the artist use certain words to get his/her point across? Give 1 Example. Grading: The difficulty and accuracy of the song and recitation will be taken into account when grading. Student seems well prepared but needed more rehearsal. Can be understood. The student is somewhat prepared. Rehearsal is clearly lacking, barely audible. Student does not seem at all prepared. Difficult to hear student. Pronunciation Native like pronunciation or the words of the presentation. Few pronunciation errors but does not distract from presentation. Many mistakes in pronunciation are present. The pronunciation distracts from understanding of presentation. |
